Pattern Making | Eveningwear

Eveningwear offers the perfect space to experiment with silhouette, proportion and luxury materials. In this course, you’ll explore both flat patternmaking and draping techniques, learning how each approach can shape and support your design vision. With an emphasis on fabric choice and refined construction, you’ll translate concept into a beautifully resolved eveningwear pattern.

What You’ll Learn

This class builds on foundational patternmaking and draping skills. Previous experience in introductory patternmaking and draping will help you get the most out of the course. Eveningwear fabrics can be beautifully expressive but sometimes challenging, so you may wish to allow extra time to refine techniques and achieve your desired finish.

You will need to complete Introductory Pattern Making first or have similar sewing & pattern making experience.

What to Expect

Our courses are open to all skill levels and held in our Pymble studio on Sydney’s North Shore. We offer morning, afternoon, full-day, and evening options, running Monday through Saturday.

Classes run once weekly for 3–3.5 hours across an 11-week term. Courses are typically priced in the $900–$1,000 range, depending on the number of hours.

As this is an advanced course, many students will require more than one term to complete their project.
