fashion ILLuSTRATION workshop

There are two introductory drawing workshops. They are stand alone workshops and both may be under taken if students want to learn manual and computerised drawing. The manual drawing course deals with presentation drawing and the flat or specification drawing used for technical packs. The Adobe Illustrator course only deals with flat or specification drawing. Bespoke designers and dressmakers may prefer manual drawing, while those outsourcing garment manufacture will require computerised drawing. You’ll learn the basic principles to improve accuracy and realism, together with the secrets of stylised fashion drawing. These courses are suitable for industry professionals, HSC students who need to draw fashion figures to portray their major works, as well as those with an interest in fashion drawing.

Skill Level: all

These workshops are open to everyone: those who draw for pleasure and those with professional aspirations alike. The courses are recommended for those undertaking the Start Your Own Label Workshop and are also a great course for HSC Textile & Design students.

For the two day manual drawing workshop, graphite pencils, water based coloured pencils and markers are covered in the course and the cost includes a drawing kit.

For the Adobe Illustrator workshop students need to bring a laptop loaded with the program and a mouse to class. A textbook is required and details will be given on enrolment.

These courses are introductory courses. References will be provided for students to continue to develop their skills after the workshop.
