Dressmaking Classes: Learning to Sew the Right Way

The beauty in fashion is all about the details. Take your sewing and textile skills to the next level with our Dressmaking for Quality Fit & Finish courses and learn not only how to make garments, but also how to harness your attention to detail and fine sewing and couture techniques to create a beautiful piece with perfect fit and a finish of the highest quality.

In conjunction with Macquarie Community College, these sewing classes are aimed at students wanting to learn techniques to complete quality, professional-looking garments using commercial patterns. This course is offered to students and industry professionals wanting to boost their skill sets and master sewing techniques, or simply to elevate their passion by furthering their skills. Students who are designing their own personal projects will also benefit from the additional skills gained.

All levels are catered for, with our beginner students offered the Basic Garments Quality Fit & Finish Course, focusing on interfacing, seam variation, machine hemming and much more, while intermediate and advanced sewers can attend our Garments of Intermediate Difficulty version of the same course where students are invited to perfect construction of sleeves, cuffs, collars, and hand-sewn finishing on hems and other fine details.
